Blarney Castle | Jameson Distillery | Titanic Experience | Spike Island | Kinsale
We depart from your home with our exclusive door to door pick-up service and travel by ferry from Holyhead to Ireland arriving at your hotel in Kinsale in time for dinner this evening.
We head to Blarney Castle this morning, home to the world-famous Blarney Stone, one of Irelands greatest treasures. The grounds of the castle are incredibly beautiful and believed by some to have a genuinely mystical quality, with bewitching themed gardens, colourful herbaceous borders, and woodland walks to enjoy. From here, we pay a visit to Blarney Woollen Mills (within walking distance of the castle) known as the largest Irish store in the world, selling a wide selection of authentic gifts from Ireland. We have time for lunch in Blarney before we make our way to the Jameson Distillery at Midleton where we enjoy a 75-minute guided tour and tasting.
Today, we visit the Titanic Experience in Cobh. Located in the original White Star Line Ticket Office, the building is steeped in history and was the departing point for many thousands of White Star Line passengers. We enjoy a personal 30-minute guided tour that will take us on a virtual journey to board the tenders and join the Titanic for her maiden voyage to New York.
In the afternoon we take a short scenic ferry journey from Cobh to Spike Island which over the last 1,300 years has been home to a 6th century monastery, a 24 acre fortress and the largest convict depot in the world. We enjoy a fully guided 1-hour tour of the island and fortress with some time to explore at leisure before returning to our hotel.
We spend today at leisure exploring Kinsale. Hailed as the gourmet capital of Ireland, Kinsale boasts an attractive yachting harbour and narrow winding streets full of galleries, gift shops, bars and superb restaurants.
After breakfast we depart our hotel and make our way back to the ferry for our crossing to Holyhead and home.
