Spring is here and the Vale of Evesham, known for its apple, pear and plum orchards, is an ideal place to visit at this time of year. From late March to early May, the roadside views are full of colour. Enjoy a 2-hour guided tour of the 30-mile Blossom Trail stopping along the way at various farms and cafes. Youll also experience "Archers" country and, once again, a guided tour takes in Hanbury and Inkberrow, places on which the famous Radio 4 drama is based.
Evesham Blossom Trail Tour | Archers Country Tour | Tewkesbury | Shrewsbury | Ludlow
We depart from your home pick-up and join your coach and travel south to our hotel, arriving late afternoon where tea/coffee await you whilst your luggage is taken to your room. Time to relax before dinner.
Today we meet our local guide in Evesham for a tour of the fabulous Blossom trail; we start at the tiny town of Pershore, famous for the Pershore Yellow Egg Plum, before continuing through Fladbury & The Lenches. We then enjoy a guided tour of The Archers country taking in Hanbury and Inkberrow, famous in the Radio 4 drama.
Our excursion today takes us to the medieval town of Tewkesbury with its picturesque riverside setting. You could visit Out of the Hat, an exquisite example of a 17th century home and shop that now houses a heritage centre or take a stroll along Church Street, lined with half-timbered houses and punctuated with Tewkesburys famous alleyways before making our way to the beautiful 12th century Norman-built Tewkesbury Abbey, built to house Benedictine monks in 1211. Enjoy lunch at leisure in Tewkesbury before we make our way to the beautiful city of Gloucester, here you can enjoy free time to wander around its glorious medieval cathedral which was used as Hogwarts in most of the hugely successful Harry Potter films.
After breakfast we depart our hotel and journey to Ludlow, a thriving medieval market town and an architectural gem with a lively community feel. You can explore the historic town centre at your leisure before we journey through the beautiful countryside of south Shropshire and the Welsh Marches to Shrewsbury where you have some free time before we depart to make our way home.
