Trebah Garden | The Eden Project | Trelissick Garden | St Mawes | Padstow | Port Isaac | St Agnes | Falmouth
We depart from your home and travel south to Cornwall and our hotel in St Agnes.
Today we spend the day at leisure in St Agnes. Tucked into a stunning and unspoilt spot on the north Cornish coast, St. Agnes sits in both a designated area of natural beauty and a World Heritage Site. There are lots of independent shops, beautiful beaches, world class pubs and restaurants to enjoy along with one of the country's most stunning coast paths to walk along and take in the magnificent views!
This morning we head across the Duchy to the historic maritime town of Falmouth. We later visit Trebah Garden, an exotic sub-tropical garden, voted in the top 100 Gardens in the world. Famous for its cascading waterfalls, ponds with giant Koi Carp and streams, which winds down to its own private beach.
A full day at the Eden Project home to the largest indoor rainforest in the world. The huge biomes create tropical and Mediterranean environments and house thousands of unusual plants from all over the world. Visitors to the Eden Project can see banana trees, giant bamboo, grape vines, rubber plants, waterfalls, steamy jungles, giant sculptures, a treetop lookout and much more. Whilst here we also include a 1 hour guided tour.
This morning our excursion takes us to St Mawes, situated on the Roseland Peninsula. A picturesque harbour with whitewashed houses is guarded by Henry VIIIs cloverleaf shaped St Mawes Castle.
Later we visit Trelissick Garden, situated on a peninsula with commanding magnificent views over the Fal Estuary, Trelissick surely has one of the best natural settings of any estate in the country. There are 30 acres of garden to explore, with twisting paths with woodland plants and herbaceous borders that provide year-round colour and interest.
Today we venture north to Padstow, offering outstanding natural beauty made up of rugged coastline, quiet coves and fabulous walks, this charming working fishing port is surrounded by glorious sandy beaches.
The success of the town can be attributed to its inherent charms but there is no denying that a certain celebrity chef probably contributed to putting Padstow back on the holiday map.
This afternoon we will visit Port Isaac, a small and picturesque fishing village set on the Atlantic Coast of North Cornwall. Port Isaac has been an attractive fishing village since the 14th century and its narrow winding streets, old, white-washed cottages and traditional slate-fronted buildings are of architectural and historical importance. Once a busy port it has recently become a popular location for both film and TV series including TVs Doc Martin. Look out for some familiar faces.
After breakfast we will depart our hotel for the journey home with comfort stops en route.
