North Wales has some fantastic gardens to visit, from the wonderful gardens at Plas Newydd, to the impressive displays at Bodnant Gardens, not to mention the newest attraction in Anglesey, Plas Cadnant Hidden Gardens. This long weekend break will introduce you to some of the finest Gardens in Wales.
Plas Cadnant Hidden Gardens | Plas Newydd | Bodnant Gardens | Llandundo | Llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrndrobwllllantysiliogogogoch (Llanfair PG)
We depart from your home with our exclusive home pick-up service and travel to Llandudno, arriving at the Marlborough Hotel with plenty of time to relax and enjoy the town before dinner this evening.
Why not take a stroll along the prom, past the Pier, to Happy Valley. An Alice in Wonderland themed garden with wooden sculptures, stone circles and spectacular views of Llandudno.
Today we cross over the Menai Bridge onto Anglesey and visit Plas Newydd, an enchanting mansion and gardens, with spectacular views of Snowdonia.
Set on the shores of the Menai Strait amidst breathtakingly beautiful scenery, this elegant house was redesigned by James Wyatt in the 18th century. The 1930s restyled interior is famous for its Rex Whistler association and contains his exquisite romantic mural and the largest exhibition of his works.
There is an Australasian arboretum, with an understorey of shrubs and wildflowers, an Italianate-style summer terrace, and massed hydrangeas and rhododendrons.
Well later visit Llanfair PG, famous for being the longest place name in Wales.
Today we visit a world-famous garden that is home to National Collections and Champion Trees. With intimate corners, sweeping lawns, grand terraces and verdant woodland, there are many gardens in one at Bodnant.
Created over 150 years, with plants collected and brought to Britain from far afield, and the incredible vision of generations of the McLaren family and Puddle head gardeners, this haven of rarity and beauty with a stunning backdrop of the Carneddau mountains of Snowdonia is a delight for the senses.
This afternoon we head to Angleseys newest attraction Plas Cadnant Hidden Gardens. Three different gardens have been discovered, a large Walled Garden formerly a kitchen garden now planted with many perennials, a picturesque Valley Garden with river and waterfalls and an Outcrop Garden complete with a ruined folly.
Well then head back to Llandudno and our hotel where we have time to relax before dinner.
A morning at leisure in Llandudno, why not enjoy a stroll through the lovely peaceful Haulfre Gardens, a lovely walk across the face of the Great Orme. It may sound treacherous, but a safe suitable path has been built using tarmac to ensure a safe journey.
The Haulfre Gardens path stretches from West Shore all the way to the top of Llandudnos town. The Path splits off into many different directions at different points of the journey. Towards the end of Haulfre Gardens there is a small café called Haulfre Tea Room. The scenery of the Gardens is beautiful in its own way with flowers spreading throughout the area and with the areas made up of rockery formed on the Orme. With the flowers growing around the rocks and other areas makes the gardens look like a wonderful place with a perfect natural atmosphere.
Later we depart Llandudno and make our way home.
