We steam our way ahead on the Bo’ness & Kinneil historic railway, take a relaxing cruise on Loch Katrine aboard the Steamship SS Walter Scott and experience the world's first and only rotating boat lift.

 

Your Steam Through the Highlands Break includes:

Day One

We depart from your home pick-up you join your coach for the journey north to Scotland and your hotel, time to relax before dinner.

 

Day Two

We take a drive into the beautiful scenery of the Trossachs, a delightful area of Lochs and mountains before we head to Loch Katrine where we have an included lunch at the Brenachoile restaurant, then we board the Steamship SS Walter Scott for a two-hour afternoon cruise along the full length of the loch.

 

Day Three

We head to Falkirk to experience a boat trip with a difference, the steam powered Falkirk Wheel is a fascinating experience, a unique rotating boat lift built to link the Union Canal with the Forth & Clyde Canal some 35 metres above. We then drive to Bo'ness to take our seats for a nostalgic steam train ride on the Bo'ness Kinneil Railway. Our journey will take us to the southern shores of the Firth of Forth from Bo'ness to Manuel and return with reserved seating in the dining car and traditional afternoon tea served during our journey.

 

Day Four

Today we make our way to Loch Lomond where there will be some time to explore then in the afternoon enjoy a tea dance on board the Steamship, Maid of the Loch -please note this ship is permanently moored and does not sail.

 

Day Five

This morning we bid farewell after breakfast and begin our homeward journey with refreshment stops enroute.

 

WINNOCK HOTEL, Drymen

This charming family run hotel takes centre stage on the green in the village of Drymen, sensitively extended and refurbished it retains its traditional bars and log fires and offers a warm and friendly atmosphere. Bedrooms are tastefully decorated with satellite TV, telephone, tea/coffee making facilities, the hotel does not have a lift but some ground floor rooms are available upon request.
