The River Thames, the second longest river in the UK has many stories to tell and in this two-centre short break we reveal many stories as we take four very different but equally relaxing cruises, calling at Oxford, Henley-on-Thames, Kew, Central London and Greenwich.

Your Thames Tales & River Cruise Break includes:

  • Luxury coach travel

  • Home pick up

  • 2 nights’ accommodation, dinner & breakfast (Hilton Reading)

  • 1 nights’ accommodation & breakfast (Doubletree Hilton Docklands Hotel)

  • Oxford to Abingdon Cruise

  • Caversham to Henley Cruise

  • Kew to Westminster Pier

  • Westminster to Greenwich City Cruise.

Day One

We depart from your home pick-up and travel to Oxford where we will enjoy a relaxing 2-hour afternoon cruise on the River Thames to Abingdon.  We then continue to our hotel in Reading, time to relax before dinner.

Day Two

After a leisurely breakfast we depart our hotel and join our boat at Caversham Bridge in Reading for a gentle 2-hour cruise to the delightful riverside town of Henley-on-Thames.  There is free time for lunch and to look around the town, with around 300 buildings designated ‘of special architectural or historical interest’.  We then take a scenic drive following the river through Marlow, Cookham and Maidenhead before returning to our hotel in Reading.

Day Three

We depart our hotel in Reading this morning and travel to Kew for a 90-minute cruise to Westminster in the heart of the capital.  In the afternoon there is free time to explore before we make our way to our London Hotel, the Doubletree Hilton.  Evening at leisure, dinner not included this evening.

Day Four

Our final cruise takes us on a 73-minute journey to Greenwich passing many of London’s best-known sights including the London Eye, Tower of London, Tower Bridge, 02 arena and Canary Wharf.  There is free time in Greenwich, perhaps visit the Cutty Sark or the Royal Observatory.  Our final ‘tale’ is a visit t the Thames Barrier park with views of the impressive marvel of engineering that has been protecting central London from flooding since 1984.  Late afternoon we depart for home.

HILTON HOTEL, Reading

Located four miles from Reading town centre, the Hilton Reading hotel is an excellent point for exploring this beautiful area of England, the hotel has a restaurant, bar lounge, leisure facilities include indoor pool, gym, spa, sauna and jacuzzi, bedrooms feature iron, hairdryer, tea/coffee making facilities.
