DAY ONE – Arrival
We depart from your home and travel to Scotland along the shore of Loch Lomond to the Crianlarich Hotel arriving late afternoon you will have time to relax before dinner this evening.
DAY TWO – West Highland Railway
We join the Scotrail train at Crianlarich station for the ride to Oban. The line takes us through the Pass of Brander and alongside Loch Etive. In Oban, we have time to explore the town, have a look at the harbour, enjoy lunch and relax. In the afternoon we take the train back to Crianlarich.
DAY THREE – Falls of Dochart, Genturret Distillery and Aberfeldy
Today we head along Glen Dochart to Killin, where we see the spectacular Falls of Dochart rushing through the village. From here we drive along Loch Earn and Glen Ogle to visit the Glenturret Distillery, makers of the Famous Grouse whisky, for a tour and a wee dram.
Later we head North to the picturesque market town of Aberfeldy where we have free time to have a look around. We return via a scenic drive along Loch Tay.
DAY FOUR – Glen Coe Visitor Centre, Fort William, West Highland Museum & Alexandra Hotel Cream Tea
This morning we travel north to the Glen Coe Visitor Centre, where we learn about the area's fascinating history, including the feuding clans and the infamous Glencoe Massacre.
We then continue via Ballachulish and Loch Leven to the popular town of Fort William, where you will have free time for lunch and to explore at your leisure.
In the afternoon, we visit the West Highland Museum, whose exhibits tell the story of the region's rich history, culture and people.
Following our visit, we make our way to the Alexandra Hotel, where we enjoy a delicious afternoon cream tea before returning to our hotel.
DAY FIVE – Departure
After breakfast this morning we leave our hotel and make our journey home with comfort stops en route.
