The Brecon Beacons National Park and the Cambrian Mountains boast spectacular scenery. Our tour combines must-see attractions with less visited gems of the region and includes a tour of the pretty villages near the England-Wales border as well as a tour of the Elan Dams with a Ranger.

DAY ONE – Arrival

We depart from your home and travel south to Mid Wales and our hotel in Llandrindod Wells.  Time to relax and maybe explore the town before our dinner this evening.

 

DAY TWO – Leominster

Today's excursion begins across the border in Leominster, where our guide will join us as we tour the pretty Black & White Villages including medieval Pembridge and Weobley, the 'Jewel in the Crown' of the trail.

 

DAY THREE – Brecon Beacons & Wye Valley, inc River Cruise

A scenic day today travelling through the beautiful Brecon Beacons and Wye Valley. First stop is the famous book town of Hay-on-Wye. On then to Symonds Yat for an enjoyable cruise on the River Wye through this renowned beauty spot, followed by a break at the Old Court Hotel for tea/coffee and biscuits. We’ll then take a scenic leisurely drive to see the gothic ruins of Tintern Abbey before visiting the lively market town of Abergavenny, famous for its food festival.

 

DAY FOUR – Elan Dams & Vale of Rheidol Steam Railway

Today we have an excursion through the Cambrian Mountains with a scenic drive around the Elan Dams, accompanied by a Ranger. We’ll then make a stop at the seaside resort of Aberystwyth before boarding the Vale of Rheidol Steam Railway for the hour-long journey to Devil’s Bridge before returning to the hotel.

 

DAY FIVE – Departure

After breakfast this morning we leave our hotel and make our journey home with comfort stops en route.
