    DAY ONE– Arrival

    We depart from your home and travel to Cambridge with comfort stops en route, arriving late afternoon at the hotel with time to relax before dinner this evening.

    DAY TWO – The Fitzwilliam Museum and Cambridge University Botanic Garden

    The day begins with a visit to The Fitzwilliam Museum, one of Cambridge’s most celebrated cultural treasures. Set within an impressive neoclassical building on Trumpington Street, the museum houses an extraordinary collection spanning centuries of world history — from fascinating Egyptian artefacts and beautiful medieval manuscripts to renowned paintings by Monet, Picasso and Rembrandt.

    The galleries are spacious and well laid out, with seating available throughout, allowing you to explore at a comfortable pace. There is also a pleasant café should you wish to enjoy light refreshments during your visit.

    This morning, we journey to the wonderful city of Cambridge where we visit Cambridge University Botanic Garden. Explore, enjoy and be enchanted as seasons change at Cambridge University Botanic Garden.

    We travel back to the hotel in time to enjoy a relaxing drink before dinner.

    DAY THREE – Imperial War Museum Duxford and Saffron Walden

    Today we start with a visit to the Imperial War Museum in Duxford. From the early days of flight, through to the dramatic days of the Second World War and the technological advances of the Cold War, IWM Duxford has played a central role in some of the most significant periods of 20th-century history. See Spitfires take to the skies from the airfield where they first flew, get up close to gigantic aircraft and walk in the footsteps of the men and women who served here.

    Inside every hangar and exhibition, you’ll discover iconic aircraft, see historic objects from our collections and uncover hundreds of personal stories of the many lives impacted by conflict.

    We’ll then make our way to Saffron Walden, with its timeless charm, welcoming atmosphere and heritage. The town’s beautifully preserved medieval streets and buildings are stepped in history, while its museum and gardens offer a tranquil escape.

    We then enjoy some free time in Safrron Walkden before making our way back to the hotel with time to relax before dinner this evening.

    DAY FOUR – Ely

    Today we travel to Ely, rising above the Cambridgeshire Fens, Ely is the destination City with something for everyone.

    From the monastic buildings of the past, the vibrant food scene and the scenic majesty of the Riverside, Ely packs a great deal into a pocket city.

    You can visit Ely Cathedral, or choose to visit Cromwell’s’ house, and explore the life and legacy of this historical figure. There is also a market on today, and don’t miss exploring the charming streets that make this a wonderful city to visit.

    We’ll then make our way back to our hotel, with time to relax before dinner this evening.

    DAY FIVE – Departure

    After a leisurely breakfast we depart our hotel and begin our homeward journey with comfort stops en route.
