    HOLIDAY HIGHLIGHTS

Truro | St Ives | Marazion | Padstow | Prideaux Place | St Agnes | Penzance | Perranporth

    DAY ONE – Arrival

We depart from your home and travel to Cornwall and our hotel in St Agnes. Time to relax before dinner this evening.

DAY TWO – Perranporth and Truro

This morning we visit picturesque Perranporth, famous for its stunning sandy beach. After a short visit, we head to Truro, Cornwall’s vibrant and only city, known for its rich history, beautiful architecture, and bustling atmosphere.

    DAY THREE – St Agnes

Today you have a day at leisure in St Agnes, why not visit St Agnes Museum, where you can learn more about the rich and varied history of the area, the Museum contains a fascinating array of artefacts and exhibits detailing the area’s mining and seafaring heritage.

St Agnes is not only a World Heritage Site but also an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. You’ll find no fewer than four unspoilt beaches from which dolphins, sharks and seals have all been spotted - and for fans of Ross Poldark, Winston Graham lived just down the road and used the whole parish as the inspiration for his Poldark series of books, dubbing it ‘Poldark Country’!

DAY FOUR – Marazion and Penzance

This morning we visit Penzance. Nestled in a corner of glorious Mount’s Bay, the town has long been a hidden gem, and you’ll encounter all the salt-flecked history you would expect from its famous name – the cobbled alleyways, the bobbing boats and dockside taverns – along with vibrant local shops.

We then continue to the ancient bustling market town of Marazion is a great place to visit at any time of the year. Take a walk along the main street running parallel to the sea and discover a variety of gift and craft shops along with art galleries showing established and upcoming local artists and plenty of places to eat and drink.

Aside from the ever-present view of the Mount, the long sweep of Mount's Bay is a great place to watch wind and kite surfers.

Marazion’s two natural jewels, Mount's Bay and Marazion Marsh are home to hundreds of species of wildlife, from seals, dolphins and basking sharks to egrets, sparrow hawks and starlings.

The marsh has even been known to attract bitterns, though you are more likely to hear them than see them.

    DAY FIVE – St Ives

We explore St Ives today, a great seafaring Middle Ageshe Middle Ages, with the largest fleet of fishing boats on the north coast of Cornwall. It was not until the wall and pier were built to create a safe harbour for the fishing fleet that the town you see today began to form. See the picturesque harbour, stroll along the beach or browse the maze of narrow cobbled streets lined with independent shops and fisherman's cottages.

DAY SIX – Padstow and Prideaux Place

Today we begin at Padstow, a delightful little port, nestling on the beautiful Camel Estuary, with a picturesque harbour surrounded by pastel-washed Medieval houses. This afternoon we visit Prideaux Place, located above the busy harbour of Padstow, with the grounds boasting some of the finest views over its ancient Deer Park, the Camel Estuary, Rock and Bodmin Moor. Fourteen generations of Prideaux have lived here and each generation has added its own contribution to the house and its historic garden
