Seaprobe Atlantis Glass Bottom Boat trip   |   Isle of Skye   |   Loch Maree   |   Plockton   |   Attadale Gardens   |   Ullapool   |   Inverewe Garden & Estate

DAY ONE - Arrival

We depart from your home and travel north to our hotel in the village of Gairloch with comfort stops en route.

DAY TWO – Shipwreck, Seal and Underwater Adventure – Isle of Skye

Today we have a thrilling day out.  We first travel to Kyleakin Harbour on the Isle of Skye to board the Seaprobe Atlantis semi-submersible glass bottom boat. A great trip for everyone.  Seals, wildlife, and a WWII shipwreck plus underwater exploration. This exciting voyage of discovery explores the amazing underwater kelp forests teeming with a rich variety of marine life, you’ll see an abundance of seabirds, and maybe porpoises and otters. On our way back we’ll visit the Applecross peninsula.

DAY THREE – Loch Maree, Plockton & Attadale Gardens

This morning we enjoy a scenic ride to Loch Maree, the fourth largest freshwater loch in Scotland and home to over forty scattered islands. Later we’ll visit Plockton, ‘The Jewel in the Highlands’, Plockton is a picturesque Highland village that sits on a sheltered bay with stunning views overlooking Loch Carron.  Plockton has a wide range of local shops as well as a visitor centre which displays photographs about the history of Plockton.

Later we’ll visit the Scottish Highland Garden of Attadale, twenty acres of glorious gardens, to enjoy the peace and tranquillity. From the moment you enter, you are in the water garden, then you can explore at leisure, wander through the kitchen garden, admire the geodesic dome full of tender ferns as well as the sunken fern garden. There are benches everywhere so you can stop and relax. The rhododendrons are over 100 years old, notice the huge trunks on some of them. The Japanese Garden may be the furthest North in the UK and the sunken garden reflects the colours of the hills beyond.

DAY FOUR - Ullapool

Today we travel along the coast road to the charming, picturesque fishing town of Ullapool, nestled on the shore of Lochbroom, in the Northern Highlands. We’ll pass the Carrieshalloch Gorge just outside Ullapool, a fantastic example of a deep gorge created by glacial meltwater.

Maybe look at the Ullapool Museum, just as interesting outside as inside, as Ullapool’s history is kept in a Category A listed building, get your camera ready.

We’ll then enjoy a scenic drive back to our hotel.

DAY FIVE – Inverewe Garden & Estate

This morning we travel the short distance to Inverewe Garden and Estate, where rare species thrive in this heritage garden as the effects of the Gulf Stream meet the Highlands.

Discover the story of a father and daughter who created a lochside garden amid a barren wilderness on the Atlantic coast in the North West Highlands. Explore the garden of experimentation and wonder at the calendar of colour and scents, cultivated with care ... and a hefty dose of creativity. Meandering through the garden on this remote stretch of coastline is a paradise of unusual and wonderful plants, where the unexpected greets you at every corner.

At its heart is Inverewe House, a museum with a twist, and its adjacent Sawyer Gallery, which hosts exhibitions that reflect the characteristics of the garden and surrounding environment.
