HOLIDAY HIGHLIGHTS
Aberystwyth | Tenby | Mumbles | Gower Peninsula | Guided Gower Peninsula Tour & Vintage Tea or Welsh Cawl| Picton Castle
DAY ONE Aberystwyth and Arrival
We depart from your home and travel south to Carmarthenshire, first stopping at Aberystwyth before we then continue to our hotel, arriving in good time to relax with tea/coffee and biscuits before our dinner this evening.
DAY TWO Tenby and Picton Castle
This morning we travel west to the popular holiday resort of Tenby. With the old town walls, interesting little side streets and alleyways to explore and superb beaches, Tenby is Southwest Waless main holiday resort and is always a pleasant and friendly place to visit. We have time for lunch in Tenby before we are on our way to Picton Castle and Woodland Garden. Regarded as Pembrokeshires finest stately home and gardens, Picton is situated close to the estuary of the Cleddau River, not far from Haverfordwest. There are 40 acres of some of the most beautiful gardens and grounds in West Wales.
DAY THREE National Botanic Gardens of Wales
Today after breakfast we make our way to the National Botanic Garden of Wales, the first garden of its type to be created in the United Kingdom for 200 years. This spectacular re-interpretation of the historical garden blends the careful restoration of the historic, double-walled garden with Norman Fosters Great Greenhouse, the largest single span glasshouse in the world, where mere panes of glass separate the familiar green hills of Wales from a panoramic sweep of warm, Mediterranean scenery.
DAY FOUR Mumbles, Gower Heritage Centre and Gower Guided Tour
Leaving the hotel we head south through Kidwelly and make our way to the picture postcard resort of Mumbles, delightfully located on Swansea Bay. We have time for a look round and to obtain lunch. This afternoon we have a short drive to the Gower Heritage Centre at Parkmill. Here we meet our guide for a tour taking us to the beautiful unspoilt scenery of the Gower Peninsula, designated an Area of outstanding natural beauty. After the tour we return to the Heritage Centre and enjoy a Vintage Tea or Welsh Cawl.
DAY FIVE Departure
After breakfast we leave our hotel and make our journey home, with comfort stops en route.
