    DAY ONE – Llangollen Steam Railway and Arrival

    We depart from your home with our home pick-up and firstly a visit to Llangollen, spend some time here before we board the town’s heritage Steam Railway. Enjoy the autumn colours unfold on a spectacular journey through the Dee Valley.

    We’ll then travel to Knutsford and if time allows you can explore the town before arriving at our charming hotel. Settle into your room and relax or perhaps take a stroll around Knutsford before enjoying dinner this evening.

    Please note:The Llangollen Steam Railway may not always be steam-powered; it could be diesel or electric.

    DAY TWO – Blakemere Village and Weaver Hall Museum & Workhouse

    This morning after breakfast we make a visit to the pretty shopping village of Blakemere Village, where there is a unique collection of independent boutiques gathered around a quaint courtyard, a popular craft workshop and plenty of tempting food and drink outlets.

    We’ll then drive into the past at theWeaver Hall Museum & Workhouse, where stories of Cheshire's social history come to life. We have an interesting welcome talk and introductory film as well as tea and coffee. Set within the old Northwich Union Workhouse building, the museum explores the impact local manufacturing has had on people living in Northwich and the surrounding areas.

    We arrive back to the hotel later with time to relax before dinner this evening.

    DAY THREE – Departure and Dunham Massey

    This morning after a leisurely breakfast we visitDunham Massey- a garden for all seasons, an ancient deer park and a house filled with treasures and stories.

    A centrepiece to the walled estate, the house at Dunham Massey is home to one of the National Trust's largest collections of household treasures and objects that tells the fascinating story of the Booth and Gray families. Be sure to see explore the Library, Servant's Quarters and Kitchen and the Study of Roger Gray (10th Earl of Stamford) which includes mementoes of his friendship with Haile Selassie.

    Later this afternoon we then rejoin the coach and make the short journey home.
