Newbridge Factory Tour & Museum of Style Icons
DAY ONE – Newbridge Factory Tour & Museum of Style Icons and Arrival
We depart from your home and travel to Holyhead and our ferry crossing to Ireland. This afternoon we have included The Newbridge Silverware Factory Tour. As you tour through the Newbridge Silverware Factory you meet the people who design and craft each piece. From the pressing and stamping machines that have been in use for over a century, to the ultra-modern water jet cutting machines, Newbridge Silverware embraces the latest technology, while celebrating techniques that have stood the test of time.
We then continue to our hotel first hotel Treacy’s West County Hotel Ennis where we stay for 2 nights.
DAY TWO – The Foynes Flying Boat & Maritime Museum and Lartigue Monorail
Today, we take the ferry across the Shannon from Killimer to Tarbert and visit the unusual recreation of the 1888 Lartigue Monorail train. We enjoy a visit to the Museum and a ride on the monorail before moving on to the Foynes Flying Boat & Maritime Museum where we see the world’s only full size B314 replica flying boat from the era 1937-1945.
DAY THREE – Waterford Suir Valley Railway
This morning we journey to Waterford and join the Waterford Suir Valley Railway where we embark on a return journey from Kilmeadean before settling into our second hotel on this holiday.
DAY FOUR – Dunbrody Famine Ship and Waterford Walking Tour
After breakfast, this morning we make our way to the Dunbrody Famine Ship, an authentic replica of a 19th century famine ship. After this we enjoy a 1hr guided walking tour of Waterford where you find out more about your destination, and your guide will ensure you don’t miss a thing.
Enjoy some free time in Waterford before making our way back to the hotel for dinner this evening.
DAY FIVE – Departure
We depart our hotel this morning and begin our journey back to Dublin and our crossing to Holyhead and home.
