DAY ONE Arrival
We depart from your home and travel to Holyhead and our early ferry. Arriving in Dublin we then make our way to our hotel in Waterford. Time to relax before our dinner and entertainment this evening.
DAY TWO Waterford Crystal Factory and Waterford Treasures
This morning, we make our way to the Waterford Crystal Factory, where we enjoy a 90-minute guided factory tour, taking in all aspects of the production of Waterford Crystal, including blowing, mould making, quality inspection, finishing, crystal cutting, sculpting and engraving.
This afternoon, we enjoy a 45-minute guided tour of Waterford Treasures, comprising three museums within a few steps of each other in the Viking Triangle. We spend the rest of our day exploring this city at leisure.
DAY THREE The Waterford & Suir Valley Railway and Mount Congreve Gardens
This morning we make our way to the charming Waterford & Suir Valley Railway, where we board our heritage narrow-gauge train for a delightful journey through the beautiful countryside, following the picturesque banks of the River Suir.
Our rail journey brings us to Kilmeadan Station, where we rejoin our coach and continue to the stunning Mount Congreve Gardens. Here, we enjoy a guided tour of one of Ireland's finest gardens, renowned for its breathtaking beauty and home to one of the largest collections of plants in the country. Take time to soak up the peaceful atmosphere and admire the spectacular displays throughout the grounds.
After a day filled with wonderful scenery and memorable experiences, we return to our hotel with time to relax before enjoying dinner and entertainment this evening.
DAY FOUR Dunbrody Famine Ship Experience and Johnstown Castle
After breakfast this morning we travel north to New Ross and the Dunbrody Famine Ship experience, one of the premier Irish heritage places to visit in Wexford.
The Dunbrody is an authentic reproduction of an 1840s sailing ship. Together with its world class exhibition, it is an educational living museum of Irish History that will tell you everything you need to know about life for emigrants during the Irish famine.
Costumed performers, skilful guided tours and themed exhibitions will give you a unique insight into the bravery and fortitude of the many Irish people who faced a desperate situation.
We will then visitJohnstown Castlefor a guided tour, where we discover the 19th century castle and its incredibly long servants tunnel.
We return to Waterford where you have time to relax before dinner this evening.
DAY FIVE Departure
After breakfast this morning we leave our hotel and make our journey home, firstly to Dublin and then our ferry to Holyhead and home.
