DAY ONE – Arrival

We depart from your home, join our coach and travel to York, arriving during the afternoon. Time to settle into your room, and enjoy some time in York, before dinner at the hotel this evening.

DAY TWO – Ripon and The World of James Herriot

Our day takes us to the city of Ripon where its magnificent Cathedral is well worth a visit. The huge market square is dominated by a giant obelisk. We have time for a drink and a bite to eat before we are on our way for our next visit.

This afternoon we make our way to Thirsk and visit The World of James Herriot. This fascinating tour includes many of the props and three studio sets featured in the long running TV series based on the life and times of a local vet. We will then return to our hotel.

DAY THREE – York at Leisure

Today, you are free to explore the historic city of York at your leisure. In York there are lots of things to see and do – The National Railway Museum, The Jorvik Centre, The Castle Museum, stroll around the City Walls, wander around the excellent shops, explore the many quaint little alleyways, and, of course, no visit to York is complete without seeing magnificent York Minster.

DAY FOUR– Departure

After a leisurely breakfast and a little more time in York this morning, we leave our hotel and make our journey home with comfort stops en route.
