    DAY ONE- Bents Garden Centre and Arrival

    We depart from your own front door, join your tour coach and travel across country to Lincolnshire, making a stop at Bents Garden Centre on the way for refreshments and a little shopping, before we continue to our hotel, arriving with time to relax before dinner.

    DAY TWO - Guided Tour of Lincoln and Lincoln Cathedral Guided Tour

    Today we drive to the historic city of Lincoln with its magnificent Cathedral, and next to it the Norman castle. First, we meet our guide for a familiarisation tour of the city on the coach, followed by a guided tour of the Cathedral itself later in the day. The old town is a labyrinth of little alleyways and interesting shops to explore with plenty of tea rooms to keep you going for refreshments.

    DAY THREE - Burton Constable Hall and Beverley

    Today we visit Burton Constable Hall, home to the Constable family for over 700 years. Burton Constable is one of the most fascinating English country houses to survive complete with its historic collections.

    With over 30 rooms crammed with art, furniture, and many surprises with over 500 years of family history plus over 300 acres of historic grounds to explore. We return via the pretty market town of Beverley, possessing its very own Minster and historic town centre.

    We’ll then make our way back to our hotel where we have time to relax before dinner this evening.

    DAY FOUR – York and York City Cruise

    Today we travel to York, where we have included a York City Cruise, the rest of the day is yours to explore and make the most of this wonderful city, with all its attractions.

    DAY FIVE – Gainsborough Old Hall and Departure

    After a leisurely breakfast we depart our hotel and visit Gainsborough Old Hall - an imposing mansion largely built during the later 15th century. Developed into a fashionable Jacobean residence, the Hall subsequently fell on hard times. Parts of the hall served as a raucous theatre. Others were made into crammed tenements. It was even used as a pub.

    In the mid-20th century, local volunteers raised funds to restore Gainsborough Old Hall. It remains a much-loved community hub to this day. Highlights include the magnificent medieval great hall, the domestic apartments and the finest medieval kitchen complex anywhere in England.

    After our visit here we continue our journey home.
