Sir Winston Churchill was one of this country’s greatest statesmen. He was born in 1874 in Blenheim Palace and died in 1965 aged 90. He is buried in the little church at Bladon, just a short distance from Blenheim. We feature a visit to Churchill’s House near Sevenoaks, in Kent, and a day in London to visit the Wartime Cabinet Rooms. A very interesting and rewarding tour as we follow in the footsteps of the great man.

(9) DAY ONE – Arrival

We depart from your home and travel to Hampshire, arriving late afternoon.

(10) DAY TWO – Blenheim Palace and Bladon village

This morning, we have a ride to the magnificent Blenheim Palace, birthplace of Winston Churchill. As part of our visit, we see the rooms where he was born in 1874. Our stay also includes time to explore the magnificent parkland. Leaving Blenheim we pay a brief visit to nearby Bladon village where Churchill is buried in the local church.

(11) DAY THREE – Cabinet War Rooms and Churchill Museum

We take you into London today to visit the Cabinet War Rooms and Churchill Museum. The Cabinet War rooms were emergency accommodation provided for Winston Churchill and the War Cabinet against air attacks during the Second World War. See the original 21 historic rooms where the Defence of the Realm was planned. Also included here is the Churchill Museum, which charts his entire life.

(12) DAY FOUR – Chartwell House and Windsor

We head off into Kent today where we visit the beautiful Chartwell House - Churchill’s home for most of his adult life. Now in the care of the National Trust, the house is open as a museum and the rooms and gardens remain virtually the same as when he lived there. From here we make our way to historic Windsor for a short break.

(13) DAY FIVE – Departure

After breakfast this morning we depart our hotel, and make our journey home, with comfort stops en route.
